I was heading home about dusk from a walk when I noticed this bright yellow slide in the backyard of someone in my neighborhood. Although it was just starting to get dark outside, the yellow color of the slide still stood out from the surroundings. A large addition is being built onto our local hospital. It is an attempt to attract top notch doctors and surgeons to our area and to compete with much larger hospitals in Toledo and Fort Wayne, both of which are an hour's drive away from here. The size of the hospital will increase by one third when it is finished. On my way to work, I pass by the hospital, and the bright yellow insulation panels that are currently on the walls of the building always seem to jump out at me. I finally remembered to take the camera with me so I could take pictures of it for Mellow Yellow Monday. These last two photos show where the old and new come together. I'm assuming when they are finished that the new part will be made to match the old existing part of the original building. The dandelions have popped up all over the grass. Perhaps not a mellow image for some, but they certainly are yellow. Weed or not, I have always liked dandelions. It is probably their sunny yellow color that makes me like them. Today, however, they are reminding me I have mowing to do. I mowed our yard here yesterday, but I still need to get the grass mowed over at my mom's house. My husband and son are sacked out on our big L-shaped double couch like bookends, both home sick suffering from "Man Colds." I thought for this week's Mellow Yellow, I'd see how much yellow I could find on my walk through the park. This is what I found. pollen on the pussy willows in someone's yard on my way to the park yellow lettering on the sign at the entrance to the park The sunlight was shining on the branches of this weeping willow tree in such a way that it made them look almost as if they were gilded. The second photo shows it the best. You can see a little speck of the moon too if you look very closely. Right turn, Clyde! The street ahead has all of the following on it: my son's school, our church, the nursing home where my mother stays, and our local YMCA. At the Jubilee, an annual summer street carnival in my town, a little girl chose a yellow rubber duck to see which prize she had won.
