My husband and sons returned safely from their vacation and brought home some photos for me to see on the camera. They went to a Cleveland Indians game, visited several members of my husband's side of the family, and spent some time at Marblehead , Ohio on Lake Erie. The Cleveland Indians actually won the game that they attended. It was nice the team came through for them at a game they got to see. These are my sons standing in front of the Bob Feller statue at the Cleveland Indians Stadium. They visited several relatives in Cleveland and then drove to Marblehead, Ohio. Marblehead is marked by the pink balloon with an "A" on it on the map below. Here is a closer view of the same spot on the map. It is about midway between Toledo and Cleveland, Ohio. Although, I try to keep things light on this blog, today I have something important to me to talk about. I hope you will indulge me with a few minutes of your time. As many of you know, I am a librarian. My local library made front page news again yesterday, and once again it was NOT good news. You can click on the picture to enlarge it if you'd like to read the article. At work yesterday, this is the flyer we were passing out to patrons requesting them to read it and take action if they would like to continue to have the library services be available to them. I think these things are self explanatory, so I won't go on and on about them. I do want to say that since the downturn in the economy, our library has had a 20% increase in usage, and yet, we have already been forced to take a 20% cut in funding. The temperature has been in the teens and twenties for most of the past week here. Today the sun came out and warmed things up a bit. It made it up to about 38 degrees, so I decided to go downtown and walk around the courthouse square. It has been decorated for the Christmas season, and I wanted to take pictures of it to share with you here. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, there is always a parade through our town welcoming Santa and the Christmas season to town. Christmas music is piped outdoors over the square every day for those visiting the shops around it.
