I just came so hard my hand is shaking. Just one, for some reason. I have it really bad for a straight girl. My gaydar went WAY off when I saw her and when I found out she wasn't gay, I was shocked. We spend a considerable amount of time talking and man. She's hot, athletic, and likes teaching. Perfect! Except for the straight thing. Don't get me wrong, I love my straight friends, but when I want to date them the straight thing gets in the way. She came to the bar with me the other night when I was hanging out with my brother and uncle. And today my mind just wandered and I imagined she followed me into the bathroom and kissed me, and then I did something totally un-me. I put HER up against the wall and made her arch her back and yell as loudly as she'd dare. Operation Toaster Oven has commenced. I want this girl. And now that she is no longer subbing at my school, it's open field. And if the sex is anything like this just was, I won't want to leave

Sarah Jessica Parker Sex and the City 2 London Premiere

Image
Last year, we loved Sarah Jessica Parker‘s iconic pale green Alexander McQueen dress and butterfly-covered Philip Treacy hat that she wore during the the Sex and the City world premiere way back in London in 2008. This 2009, for the London premiere of Sex and the City 2, Sarah Jessica Parker went for a black silk and lace bustier archive gown from Alexander McQueen’s spring/summer 2008 line with a clutch from McQueen’s pre-fall 2010 collection and pre-fall 2008 lace shoes. To complete her stunning look, she had a black tulle cloud by Philip Treacy to compliment her sleek blonde locks. Source: People.com

Yes It Will!

I'm feeling good today.  This song is playing in my head, so I thought I'd share it with you.  Have a good weekend, everybody.

Spartans! Ready your breakfast and eat hearty… for tonight we dine in hell!

No 337 – 300 Director – Zack Snyder Throughout this film, the Spartans give out a fascinatingly shit war cry. “ Hoo Hah ” they repeat. Over and over again. I like to think that when the powers that be sat down to plan 300 they just did the same… repeating “ Hoo Hah ” over again – Hell, it even works as a film synopsis. Unlike Transformers (I know I keep referring back to it) which cluttered all its stupid action with masses of exposition, 300 knows that it is nothing but stupid action and doesn ’t seek to apologise or disguise the fact. After about 15 minutes they give up on even giving us a plot. We sit there, watching a short set up, explaining the culture and ways of Sparta and explaining the progress of Xerxe ’s army. Then Gerard Butler kicks a messenger down the well and screams . There is a lot of screaming. At this point, the film makers decide that they’ ve had quite enough plot thank you very much and the film becomes nothing more than a non- interactive video game. A ma

it's been awhile since i stopped and appreciated all the wonderful things happening. and this week there were plenty! in no particular order, here's what i'm grateful for this week: * not having any classes! * having some beautiful goodbyes with my clients. * literally running into jemaine clement from flight of the conchords when shopping in the mission yesterday. * cuties ice cream sandwiches * how ridiculously easy it has been to plan our wedding {especially with only a few months to do so - a very pleasant surprise} * finally getting my loan money in {no more ramen! no more fretting! no more sitting with the homeless in the park to get used to my future way of life!} * of course i have to add the super fun ok go concert dannon took me to as my graduation present - of course! * getting back into an exercise routine {i can't wait to beat dannon at arm wrestling - then i can win arguments by challenging him!} * having time to catch up on all the stuff i put aside du

Bunny Theater

Image
Some of my readers who have been coming around here for a while may remember the bunny nest and baby bunnies that were in my yard a couple of summers ago.  Well, a new family has arrived. A mother bunny was building a nest in my front yard right out by the sidewalk over this past weekend.  I made a video of her.  My camera is an inexpensive one and the video is not good quality, but I enjoyed watching her and thought maybe some of you might enjoy it too.   Before the video starts, she spent quite a bit of time digging the hole.  In this video, you will see her pulling big mouthfuls of grass up by the roots and then carrying them over to the nest.  She lines the hole that she dug with the grass to make it soft for the baby bunnies.  She also uses the grass to cover up the babies to protect and hide them. If you turn up the volume, you can hear the early morning noises from my neighborhood---a neighbor vacuuming out his car, a train in the distance, lots of songbirds singing, a dog bark

best.concert.ever!

well, it almost tied for best concert ever... the polyphonic spree still has first place. but ok go was pretty damn close. * confetti guns galore! * audience participation {we were right in the very front and damian came over to us and let the guy next to me strum his guitar during a song} * laser guitars {seriously, laser beams shooting out of the ends of their guitars, which were also lined with muppet-type shaggy hair, l.e.d. lights, and scrolling l.e.d. letters} * lots of interacting with the audience, taking their cameras and taking photos on stage for people, having conversations with us, and damian climbing into the midst of us multiple times. * did i mention confetti guns? there were LOTS of confetti sprays throughout - so magical {and afterward the teenagers had confetti fights and made confetti angels}. * enough swearing to warm your heart {sigh...}. * an accapella performance of "what to do" with handbells. it was truly one of the most amazing concerts i've e

Asparagus Crepes with Lemon-Butter Sauce

Image
Prior to last week, I had eaten crepes once. It was during a visit to Solvang, CA and I had the most delectable Ratatouille Crepes. Why I never replicated that meal is beyond me. Maybe I thought crepes were too difficult -too fussy- too French.  I visited Susan's blog,  Schnitzel and the Trout  (such a cute name for a blog!) the other day and saw that she had made Strawberry Crepes. I had strawberries in the fridge, so I printed the recipe, went to the kitchen and made some. Then I made some more! They are easy to make and keep well in the fridge. I tried crepes with jelly, crepes with banana and chocolate, and crepes with melted cheese (think quesadilla). They were all  good! When I googled crepes, I found tons of recipes. I'd heard of Crepes Suzette , but had no idea what it was, really. Go to the World of Crepes site for yummy recipes, including Dark Chocolate Crepes in Orange Sauce; Eggs Bendedict Crepes; Beef Burgundy Crepes with Red  Wine Sauce; or Sauteed Eggplant, Zuc

okay, so dannon and i only have a few months to plan our wedding. we have our location {a big vacation home in the hills above malibu} and my dress. we're also almost done making our paper things ourselves. but the big thing we need to get done is find a photographer. good photographers cost a fortune and book up way in advance. we aren't getting engagement photos so we would just need someone to hang out with us on the 18th and capture the magic. we also want someone who is comfortable with outdoor, active photos since the whole thing will be a picnic wedding with lawn games and dancing. oh and did i mention we have no money to put into this? so the cheaper the better. so, do you know anyone in the l.a. area that you could recommend? we'd sort of like to find someone who has real talent, but who is maybe a newbie photographer, possibly even still in school, that we could help out with their new career or portfolio. we're both still fairly new in our own careers

MOVIE REVIEW: Robin Hood

Image
ROBIN HOOD -- 4 STARS http://www.robinhoodthemovie.com/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0955308/ When actors and directors frequently collaborate together on films, audiences compare their works side-by-side against each other.  It's inevitable and sometimes unfortunate.  Most people expect lightning in a bottle twice or expect everything they do to be as good as it was the first time around.  Ask Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorsese.  For every Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and Goodfellas, there's The King of Comedy.  Unfair comparisons are made because each of the films are meant to be totally different works.  Even Scorsese's latest muse, Leonardo DiCaprio has to try and make Shutter Island and The Aviator live up to The Departed.   The same thing happens to two-time Academy Award winner Russell Crowe and director Ridley Scott.  Not that Russell doesn't have the same thing going with Ron Howard where Cinderella Man can't live up to A Beautiful Mind, but, ten years ago, Gl

Mango Scones

Image
I just can't pass up a mango, and they sure have been plentiful in the supermarkets these days.  This recipe calls for brushing the dough with egg white and sugar, which after baking, gives a nice crunch and sweetness to the top of the scones. Hot out of the oven, these scones are perfect with a pat of butter. For the leftovers, I split the scones, buttered and grilled them and topped them with Tropical Trio Jam - a combination of mango, passionfruit, and pineapple. Scrumptious! Mango Scones 2 c flour 3 T brown sugar 1 T baking powder ¼ tsp salt 1/8 tsp nutmeg 4 T melted butter 2 eggs 1/3 c heavy cream 1 T vanilla 1 mango, peeled and cut into cubes 1 beaten egg white 2 T granulated sugar Whisk dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs; add heavy cream and vanilla and mix until well blended. Add mango to egg mixture. Mix in cooled melted butter. Add dry ingredients into egg mixture and blend gently with a rubber spatula. Do not over-mix. Pat dough onto a parchment li
