A Dad encouraging his daughter to dance. I like it.

Do You Ever Feel Like Someone Is Watching You?

Image
I posted about my nephew , the artist, a few months ago. I wanted to share these photos from my brother. This is my nephew painting a giant eye as you can see. Do you ever feel like someone is watching you? HA HA! * * * * * I have no idea what this is, but it is so random and bizarre that it made me laugh out loud. Here are some dancing eyes for you. Oh, and then there's this for you today, too. Can you hear me laughing? I hope you dance today. Happy Friday to you!

What a Way to Start the Day!

My friend Michelle from the blog, Crow's Feet , shared this with me. What a wonderful way to start off my Sunday morning. Thank you, Michelle.

It Doesn't Take Much

My older son tried to find a job this summer with no luck. Well, he has done a small number of odd jobs here and there. Mowing grass and doing yard work for a few people and a little bit of babysitting and pet sitting have kept him busy part of the time. He also worked for a few days helping tear out commercial refrigerators with a company owned by the father of one of his friends. Yesterday, he got a call back from the owner of a company that manufactures automobile parts locally. He worked for them last summer. Because business has been so slow, they didn't need him earlier in the summer. They got a big order in recently and needed some extra help, so they called my son. It is only a few days of work, but it made him happy to get the offer. They called him yesterday morning, and within half an hour of the call, he was there working. He's there again today. Last night before he went to bed, he asked if I could fix him a lunch and put it in the refrigerator for him to...

When Husbands Buy Groceries

I hate to buy groceries. It just seems like such a chore to me. I would gladly pass the chore on to someone else, but that hasn't worked out very well either. My husband and sons buy way too many impulse items when they do the shopping. Their shopping trips blow the food budget right out of the water. If I send a list with them and tell them to buy only what is on the list, they invariably either buy the wrong size of the item I want, the wrong flavor, the wrong brand, or, they are on their cell phones with me the whole time asking questions about the items on the list in their efforts to buy what I DO want. Well, if I'm going to be spending all that time on the cell phone telling them what to buy, I might as well just go and do the grocery shopping myself. For any woman who has ever sent her husband to the grocery store, the following video is something that will make you laugh. Thank you to Reenie for sending this to me.

Get Up and Dance, You Old Slug!

Image
I saw this big slug making his way across the front porch. I liked the pattern of spots on his skin. (Skin? Do slugs have skin? Hmm...) The spots make him look a little like a jaguar or a cheetah or perhaps a leopard to me. I found it both amusing and interesting that one of the slowest creatures around should have any sort of similarity with one of the fastest creatures around. I took another picture of him with a quarter next to him so you could see the size of him. A Slug I'm just a slug, a slow moving bug, leaving a trail of slime. If you're in a hurry, go on around. I'll catch up... in my own good time. Yes, even the slugs have to dance when they come to my blog.

Even the Animals Are Dancing!

The ostriches and the camel are my favorites.

Dearly Beloved, We Are Gathered Here Today!!

Now THIS is the way to celebrate a wedding! This left me feeling their joy and sharing it, and like most weddings, it brought tears to my eyes. Seriously, it did. Yes, I know I'm a little strange. Thanks to Reenie for sending me this in an email. I LOVED it!!

Please Keep Ohio Libraries OPEN!!

Image
Although, I try to keep things light on this blog, today I have something important to me to talk about. I hope you will indulge me with a few minutes of your time. As many of you know, I am a librarian. My local library made front page news again yesterday, and once again it was NOT good news. You can click on the picture to enlarge it if you'd like to read the article. At work yesterday, this is the flyer we were passing out to patrons requesting them to read it and take action if they would like to continue to have the library services be available to them. I think these things are self explanatory, so I won't go on and on about them. I do want to say that since the downturn in the economy, our library has had a 20% increase in usage, and yet, we have already been forced to take a 20% cut in funding. This new proposal will increase the cuts an additional 32%. Not only am I a library worker, I am a library user. Even if I weren't employed by the library, I would be extr...
