Anyone planning to jailbreak their iPad 2, I advise to stay on 4.3. There were rumors that the software exploit used to jailbreak iPad 2 is patched in 4.3.1.

I may upgrade my iPhone, though, since I don't plan on jailbreaking it.

I really hope Apple makes some changes, anyone who has developed or listren to developers knows what a stupid process this is to get an app approved.

I appreciate his work, and would like to see it continued despite a frustrating process.

    Question for everyone.
I was playing with itunes 7, and I realized that if i hit the yellow minimize button (with scale effect set) it minimizes into the dock like normal, but when i try to bring it back from the dock it does nothing for a second and then it just appears. I don't know if the way i wrote that makes sense, but give it a try and see if it works for you.
 Do you mean the Genie effect? I havent updated yet, but I sure hope that that works just fine!

If it's shipping in June, even June 30, how can it not be near final form? I mean when a developer tells me s/w is "nowhere near final form" I'm thinking early beta at best. But 2.5 months from release (assume June 30) shouldn't it be in the bug testing phases and everything else locked up?

Would this run on a maxed 13" air ok?

It should except where a plugin or feature is GPU intensive and needs a real video card. That is the real Achilles heel of the 13". (I say that as an owner). Motion will run like molasses though.

My prediction is that the next iPhone will go on sale Friday, 11/11/11, just in time for Christmas sales. Apple can't let a cool date like that go by without something big happening. My guess is that it will called iPhone 4G, not iPhone 5.

If you think about it, it's not all too surprising that some of these "professionals" are getting so worked up and sulky over this release. The notion that "pro editing" can belong to just about anyone, rather than an exclusive circle of elites, poses an existential crisis. Apple's re-thinking of editing is also a re-thinking of what it means to be "professional". The announcement sheds light on a future in which their "advanced", learned techniques are no longer advantageous. The "industry pros" are facing the plight of impending impotence. It's not something anyone would really openly admit, but I think they're feeling a bit naked, stripped of their status.

Who can blame them for being pissy?being one of them, I can honestly say were just a bunch of jaded ***** ;)
Yea this is old news to me. I was there when FCP first came out and the Premiere/Media100 folks were in a tiff about Apple getting to close to the mid-range cause then Avid was around 100k for a turn-key system.
its old news, everyone likes to complain.
I was at the SuperMeet still fresh from hearing Avid and Kevin Smith lovefest.
I did not see that demo coming ;)
I was floored and cant wait to see what the future holds for all interfaces.
Please folks get off the iMovie already.
This new GUI reminds me of a lot of older/newer higher-end apps such as Resolve, Composer (SGI sad answer to After Effects), etc...
Its not iMovie unless you treat it like iMovie :P

I worked in radio at the time. That list was fake.

I'm sorry; the list was real (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_Channel_Communications). It wasn't an official ban per se, more of a suggestion, sent by Clear Channel Communications to stations they owned.

I said if my dad ever met John Lennon: that meant that JL is about the only one with musical talent in the Beatles. Try reading a little bit better next time.

And suggesting, or even blatantly stating, that Beatles and Madonna have transcended music more than Bach is about as musically stupid as it comes. Bach not only wrote his own music (Madonna just drops into a studio every now and then), he could also conduct orchestras (the Beatles could do one thing individually; that's why they are called the Fab FOUR), his impact on developing Baroque music is unquestioned and his composition skills and musical knowledge have been admired by the likes of Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven.

24 must be your musical IQ; get some education before you enter discussions like this.

It's exactly what I'm stating...transcending music means their impact has gone above and beyond music. They had an impact on society. You don't have to be a student of music to know who they are and what they have done. How did Bach transcend music?

You need some education as well. Madonna can play numerous musical instruments (she was a drummer in a band before she hit big) and has written music and lyrics for years. And she can dance! Can Bach dance??

And seriously, nobody is going to take you seriously if you are rude and dismissive. Just because you like classical music doesn't make you smarter than everyone else. Everyone has different tastes. Deal with it.

I played for about 90 minutes last night. I am impressed with the graphics but focused on the story (solo/coop), seems like more of the same. I mean it's good but as with most sequels and for me especially after the 5th time around, it's feeling a bit repetitive. Maybe as I get farther into it I'll get more excited. :)
Well, let's be real here. It is a shooter. The game is going to mainly entail traversing levels, and shooting the enemies in the way. By nature, it is going to be repetitive. I guess I didn't feel that though, given the variety in the way you go about this; On foot, in a Warthog, in a Falcon, with a Jet Pack, in a Space Ship, with a team, by yourself. I quite liked all the various levels, and the ways the game made available to finish them.
I would assume that once you got through the blatant copy&paste areas used to make the original Halo SP longer you would have realized that was par for the course ;)
Which parts of Reach fit this description?? I can only think of 1 area that was reused, and it was a part of the game you just move through pretty quickly. On top of that, the two times you visit the area are separated in time, both story-wise and mission number (3 & 9), so they have a VERY different feel each time you go through. But hey, if you have other areas, I'm all ears.

I would imagine just using your dock plugged into a wall anywhere in the house while your device gets updated - or maybe the new devices will use some sort of Induction Charge and just lay it down on the mat and it will charge and also sync/update wirelessly.

so i can sync over wifi, which is going to be slow as hell, and i still have to keep my device on a charging pad or in a dock? Why wouldn't i just plug it into the damn computer to speed up the process?

    The iTunes Store is SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW!!!!

Dreadfully slow. It took all of a minute to open Safari, go to Macrumors, go to the iPod/iTunes discussion section, come to this thread, and get all the way up to the word "slow" in order for it to come up. :(

This would indeed be awesome for people like me who quite like the 3D stuff and don't get headaches with it.

But if they were to do it they'd have to make sure EVERYTHING that was in 3D was also in 2D so people who can't see 3D/don't like it don't have to use it.

I'd have though iPad 3 would have been a bit soon though?

    Maybe iPad 4?

Again, agreed. Who cares when an announcement happens, as long as it happens soon. So far, no one is right, at least not until it actually happens and someone is proven correct.

Well...I'd care to see it more later today or tomorrow than in the next week and a half :P I can have my ordered placed sooner then :)

Is that why AT&T sold a lot more iPhones that vz last quarter?

Also vz just wants you to go over your cap. More money for them

Check VZW site, VZW charges no overage charges, data is unlimited. no caps no overage charges just unlimited data. WHAT DON'T you understand.
And the VZW throttling post on BGR.com was just a BS warning, NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN THROTTLED! Go the androidforums and you will not find anyone that have ever been throttled!

Now with att try and use alot of data then att will claim you are tethering and automatically switch you to tiered data.

after 2GB , att charges 10 a GB. that can get expensive fast!

I meant when they do put caps on.

By the way I use like 2 gigs a week on AT&T and they leave me alone

    Well, I love iTunes 7

    Fantastic

the get album art is SICK

the album scroll view is SICK

the gapless playback is well you get the idea!

    I love it!

Just put it on my PC at work, and it's awesome

I'm a little concerned about putting it on my Mac at home because of the massive 140 gig library that it will have to process...

    Hopefully it goes well,

Holy moley, you mean it starts downloading cover art without asking or letting you turn that off? I don't want cover art, and I sure as heck don't want to use up bandwidth on my connection for cover art downloads, much less send out reports on what I care to keep in my playlists.

No, you turn it on in Preferences.

Or only has one eye ;)

Thanks for getting it. :) No, I have 2 eyes but I have an eye condition known as Duane's syndrome. My eyes aren't perfectly aligned with each other so my brain doesn't process both images together as a 3D image. Basically my brain only processes the image out of one eye at a time (usually my right eye unless I tell it otherwise)
