Some great composers, but Mc Cartney is not the sharpest business tool in shed. Evidence.... Michael Jackson & the fact he lost so much money waiting this long to license the music to a legitimate outlet. Allofmp3.com & bearshare,all the other peer2peer & preloaded ipods being sold stole from all of them big time.
MY friends all have complete Beatles on their mp3 players & computers. Cost probably nada. Whether it is right or wrong people will buy if it is easily available & steal more if it isnt.

The issue with the Michael Jackson thing goes back years to when Lennon/McCartney originally sold the publishing rights to Dick James, and then didn't/were'nt given the chance to buy them back once they became wealthy men. In the Michael Jackson case, it was simply that Paul couldn't raise the money to buy them. And don't forget, Apple (Corps) aren't stupid. The 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper is next year (June 1, for those who are keeping track). AND...not so coincidentally, it's the 20th anniversary of the CD releases. There is a massive opportunity there, and I've been saying for some time that I expect the remastered, next-gen Beatles releases to coincide with this event. "It was 20 years ago today...", and all that.
The fact that Apple can continue to make heaps of money after 40 years on just the Beatles images/likenesses (remember, they don't own the publishing OR the master recordings), is amazing.

I say iTunes Movie Store and new iPod nanos. Possibly a rev of the iMacs, since they were the first ones to go Intel.
I really don't see a new iPod with video, but I could be wrong... i was last year when the 5G came out.

A Phat iPod Touch sounds like a great product to me. Integrate an iPad touch with limited flash storage and a iPad Hard Drive. Call it the Phat iPod Touch..:eek:

Apps depend on the instant access that flash memory allows for using data, so a hard drive would slow the whole process up, especially on the processor size. Plus, moving objects are exactly why they moved to flash: too fragile and much easier to destroy. Nope, the hard drive based music player has seen its day in the sun and is now going off into the distance. It has a good run, but like the floppy before it (didn't flash memory also kill that too?), its just not good enough for today.

Just called a few Radio Shacks around where I live and one store said they won't be getting it in but can order for me. It would take 3-5 days to get it in. The other store had no idea what I was talking about. I'll have to see what I have to do to order it from RS.. Still a little hesitant to order from them. If they had it in stock that's one thing.

This firmware update seems like a good thing, but I'm just afraid of the computer shutting down even though it supposedly ignores temp readings. I tried running the hardware diagnostic, and guess what. The MacBook still shut down- multiple times while trying to run the test. I was unable to get the diagnostic to run at all. Should I just call Apple up and start demanding answers and taking no prisoners? Or should I be more sly about it? I'm just starting to get pissed off at what I thought was a great computer company.
Just do it, have some faith. It is the best update I ever did. My mac does not shut down anymore and it works better. And the firmware update only takes a few seconds, i too was worried about it shutting down during the firmware update, but do you think apple would put out a update like that. Could you imagine the mess if half of the macbooks died during the update and would not boot anymore? They would not take that chance.
So just do it, it will work for you, and maybe restore some faith in apple.

Why does that say 85W? Am i missing something, or is that a mistake? the 85W adapter is for the MBP's.
I'm guessing they did that so they could use the same adapters for both. The laptop itself still has a 60W ps.

Ok, but they are only utilizing Moscone West. Why not rent West and North, South or all three. That would allow them to expand without moving.
Or just expand it to 2-3 weeks and repeat the event so all can come who want to. I am sure Apple wouldn't mind making a few million more off the event

Absolutely. I'm a bit surprised at all the misinformation (nobody is drilling a friggin' screw in your MacBooks, people).
Is that the verdict on the screw issue?
I had my Blackbook in twice and the second time they replaced the heatsink (no problems since) but other than a slightly warped battery, I have not noticed anyother cosmetic changes.
If people are getting screwed they should post pictures (no pun intended). ;)
