Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip-Pretzel Cookies

Kettle Corn.  Ripe melon wrapped with prosciutto.  Trail mix with nuts and pineapple.  Chocolate covered peanuts.  Honk if you love sweet and salty food!

If you honked, you'll love this cookie recipe, modified just a bit, from Bob's blog, Cooking Stuff. A lot of you have probably been to Bob's blog.  Bob cooks a lot of stuff with bacon.  Bob loves bacon.  Did you know that Bob meows?  The real Bob, that is.  And when Bob talks about noodles, he's not talking about pasta.  Oh, my... even I'm confused and I know what I'm talking about!

I'm not much of a baker... too much measuring... too exact.  But lately, I've gotten into making cookies somehow, and that's the least thing I like to bake!

What I hate about making cookies is that it seems like I'm never finished.  Scoop, wait 15 minutes.  Scoop, wait 15 minutes.  Scoop, wait 15 minutes. I'm always glad when I get to the bottom of the bowl of cookie dough.

What I love about making cookies is the little ice cream scoop that I use to scoop the dough onto the baking sheet.  The cookies turn out so uniform, so pretty!

If you don't hate making cookies, give these a try... I think you'll like them!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Pretzel Cookies
1 ½ cups flour
½ tsp baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup crushed pretzels, (use a rolling pin)

Preheat oven to 350F; line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Sift flour and baking soda together and set aside.  Cream the butter and sugars together. Add the eggs, one at a time and mix well.  Add vanilla.  Add the flour mixture and mix well. Add the oats, chocolate chips and pretzels and mix well. Place rounded tablespoons onto the sheet and cook 10-14 minutes. Cool for a minute on the sheet then transfer to a wire rack.
