Watched TV: Saw Enchanted


Friday, June 26, 2009. Watched TV: Saw Enchanted (Kevin Lima, 2007) again. It still works on second viewing. Amy Adams alright (more than alright, actually, she can really act: it's difficult to be convincing as a person who has never seen anything of the modern / real world). Susan Sarandon sublime. Patrick Dempsey his usual excellent McDreamy self, James Marsden deliciously parodic too-cute-for-words Prince Charming. Plot quite interesting, if you stop and think for a minute. How many Disney narratives take that many ironic distances from the codes of Fairy Tales and classical Disney narratives?

No 211 - Moulin Rouge! Director - Baz Luhrmann I remember very vividly when I first saw this film.
