Do you remember the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man who was in the movie, Ghostbusters ? I saw him in the park the other day.  No, really I did!  What's the matter?  Don't you believe me?  I even got a picture of him.  See!  Here he is. Can you see him there running across the treetops?  No?  Well, here.  Maybe this will help.  If I only had a giant graham cracker and a giant Hershey's chocolate bar, he'd make a heck of a S'more, don't you think? How about you?  Have you seen anything unusual recently?  

Psalm 19:1-4 (New International Version)    " The heavens declare the glory of God;  the skies proclaim the work of his hands.   Day after day they pour forth speech;  night after night they display knowledge.  There is no speech or language  where their voice is not heard.   Their voice goes out into all the earth,  their words to the ends of the world."      The skies were definitely speaking to me on my Saturday night walk.  I kept stopping to take pictures of the clouds and the sunset.  They just seemed especially beautiful to me.  I'll hush now so you can enjoy listening to what they have to say. I love this last one with the lights of the theater being the only thing you can see of the buildings; the rest just in silhouette against the magnificent blaze of that singing sky.

It's been a fairly quiet and typical Sunday here. I went to church this morning. Then visited my Mom for a while. I baked a cinnamon applesauce cake with coconut pecan icing this afternoon. SOMEONE had a piece before I could take a picture. Hmm...I'll have to investigate and see who THAT was. The weather was absolutely gorgeous again--sunny and in the mid 70's. Our summer this year has been mild and wonderful so far. I have enjoyed it immensely. It has been grand for taking walks, so I go whenever I can. While walking, I saw this pretty bed of flowers planted around a large rock in the park. I love these giant red flowers. Because of their large size and their loud "you can't miss it" color, they seem like something that ought to be from a Dr. Seuss story or some similar whimsical, imaginative land. That's about it for here today. Nothing much else exciting to report. Oh yeah, except just one thing. I almost forgot to tell you. I saw Superman fly...

The males of my household traveled to Detroit for the day today to watch the Cleveland Indians lose yet again (gluttons for punishment), so I had the day to myself here at home. This afternoon, I visited my Mom, did some reading, paid the bills, went shopping for a little while, and watched a little bit of TV ( I had the remote all to myself!! ). I also went for a walk, as usual. It was a quiet day, but it passed by quickly. I have just a few photos to share with you from over the weekend. Friday night the sky was filled with cotton candy clouds. Every direction I looked I saw pink spun sugar up above me. It looks like there must have been a carnival going on in Heaven and the cotton candy machine was running amok. ;) Saturday morning we had some much needed rain that helped green up the grass and washed the dust off of everything. The flowers looked bright and clean afterward. These honeysuckle are growing in some one's yard about a block away from me. Attracted to the scen...

Judging by the number of pairs of shoes and flip-flops left by the front door, school is out for the summer and half the neighborhood has dropped by for a visit. Many of the flowers on my daisies have been eaten off by the squirrels living in our trees, but there are a few remaining that they have missed. At first I assumed it was the rabbits that were eating them until I saw a squirrel happily dining away on the white and yellow delicacies. Hey you, squirrel, PLEASE don't eat the daisies!! My morning glory seedlings have begun to poke their heads up out of the dirt. It was an absolutely gorgeous day with pretty blue skies, fluffy floating clouds, and grass and trees as green as God intended them to be. I took some cloud pictures in the park from my walk tonight. The sun is just starting to go down in these last two photos of clouds at the park. The last photo is my favorite of this group. I loved the brilliant color of this peony flower. There has been a bunny or maybe two ...

It was warm enough for me to go for a walk through the park after work tonight. Well, it was warm enough as long as I wore my winter coat, hat, gloves, jeans, and a hooded sweatshirt, that is. Still, I walked outside. That was a good thing. I felt like I was inside a kaleidoscope. With each turn in the road, the sunset and clouds shifted into different shapes and changing colors: yellows, purples, pinks, oranges, reds. I saw the buzzards in the trees too. They are back. Welcome signs of spring on giant wings. It was too dark to take a photo of them, but they were roosting in the tops of the tallest pine trees in the park. Every once in a while, I could hear their wings flop as they switched from one branch to another.
