We've had rain, and then some rain, followed by more rain the last two days which made for a very soggy Saturday and Sunday.  We should have expected that, I suppose, because we had plans and hoped for sunny weather (you know, Murphy's Law and all that).   On Saturday, my husband drove his van, and I drove my car to my son's apartment at his university.  In drenching, relentless downpours of rain, we loaded up both vehicles as full as was safe and reasonable to do so with my son's belongings.  He has just two more days of final exams, and then he will be done with what he needs to do there.  He still has an online class and an internship to complete at his job from home this summer, but after that, he will be graduating with his Bachelor's Degree in July.   My husband made another trip with the van today.  It's amazing how much stuff one person can accumulate in nine months time!  My son will be home Tuesday night for a short two and a half months...

I didn't blog last week, but I did find time to take a few pictures to share with you.  You can click on them to enlarge them if you want to see more details. The ground under the trees in the park has a carpet of white that looks like snow. Thankfully, it is NOT snow, but is a carpet of these little white flowers instead. I caught this squirrel off guard stealing food from a bird feeder.  When he realized I was there, he scampered off to this tree.  Then he peeked around the trunk to scold me for taking his picture. The dark colored trees in this picture behind the blossoming white ones are crabapple trees.  Just today I noticed that they are now starting to open up with pink blossoms.  I didn't get over to take a picture of them, but I hope to do so in the next day or so.  The next few photos show some of the color I found around my neighborhood. MAGNOLIA TREE From across the street it looks as if  a flock of pink parrots have taken over the limbs. A closer look reveals branches full of buds like the points of pink lipsticks twisted to the rims. Some of the buds have opened swirled among the tree's twigs like cotton candy on a paper cone, sweet proof that with faith and patience  good things will come...  if good seeds you've sown.

I thought I'd share some bits of color from my weekend.  The yellow forsythia bushes are popping out all over.  These bushes with their bright cheery yellow are one of my favorite signs of spring. I found lots of these little purplish-blue flowers hiding in the grass too. These white flowers are growing near the park. It was very windy here yesterday, so it was difficult to get a good picture.  The petals were blowing in all directions. On the ground under the tall trees in the park there is a carpet of little white flowers and some taller yellow flowers.   This is what the white flowers look like. The yellow flowers look like this. We've had some colorful skies this weekend too.     Oh yeah, the bruise on my arm, although faded, is still pretty colorful from my failed attempt at donating blood too!!
