June 29, 2010. Went to see When You're Strange (Tom DiCillo, 2009) with Lord Darlington. On February 20, 2008, I blogged about my admiration for Tom DiCillo. But this was when he was filming FICTION. I don't know what came over him. This Doors documentary is perfectly bland. Sure, you get to see and hear the Lizard King, wearing his leather pants and big belt (which is always a treat, obviously, and beats seeing Val Kilmer doing him), but apart from that, nothing special at all. It's just a documentary, without even as much unseen footage as one was given to understand.
