RIP: Paul Newman (1925-2008).
My life was never the same again after my first viewing of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Richard Brooks, 1958). Gorgeous and extremely talented actor with a brain and a political conscience. You'll be missed.

No 211 - Moulin Rouge! Director - Baz Luhrmann I remember very vividly when I first saw this film. I was in sixth form when it came out, and was a student of 'Theatre Studies', so there was naturally a lot of talk about this overtly theatrical piece.
