Sigh, I dont like the way Apple configure models to get you to spend more to get features that should be standard.
512Mb RAM and a Combo Drive which probably costs them 50p
Most people ship with 512mb in their base laptops at the moment and as for the combo drive the vast majority of us never even think about burning a dvd. Better to release a cheaper model and offer the user the chance to upgrade than price people out with unrequired features - although obviously a gb of ram would be handy.

In that case, I'd recommend the Mono set plus Abbey Road and Let It Be separately.
The Mono is supposed to be limited (although we know that usually doesn't mean much), but you run the risk of not being able to get it at some point.

Was afraid Cundles might have gone ballistic. Especially after Tuesdays constant postings of some very old news:)

About a year ago, my PowerBook G4 12" had a battery recall. Now I go to the website to check my replacement battery, and it appears to fall into the range of the recall again. However, I tried entering my information in the website and the form rejected the battery serial number even though I double-checked that it was within the range.
Now the website appears to be down (cannot connect, no timeout or anything).

I think iTunes 7 looks great. The main improvement to me is the speed increase. I find scrolling up and down the library is so much faster. Hopefully this is a nod to new UI components in Leopard?
In terms of people finding it slower, isn't this just because it's working out all your gapless audio and downloading cover art after installing??
I also like the new scrollbars etc. I think if anything, they are more Unix or Sun/Java-like, certainly not Windows. I honestly think the candy-blue Aqua theme is disgusting. It served a purpose to be different, but now it needs to look sophisticated, which I think they have achieved.
The eye-candy of the cover-art view is brilliant. It really works as a UI. It genuinely makes me look at my library in a different way. I've already listened to loads of stuff that was gathering dust.

I have never EVER had Facebook crash Safari. And I use Facebook heavily.

I have multiple Macs, more than 10, so I'm not spreading FUD.
You must just go on the site and read what people say and don't do anything javascript intensive.
There are many threads of SAFARI complaints on here and on Apple Discussions if you don't believe me.
So far, Safari 4.0.4 seems more stable, but they still need to fix the spinning beachball problem, which also many people have complained about.
I suspect that on Macs FLASH and Javascript would be mostly the causes of these problems, but on the iPhone, there would still be Javascript problems in Mobile Safari since they are based largely on each other.

I agree there need to be big cuts, but it seems like the only thing we cut nowadays are smaller programs that have actual long-term benefits. Not things that actually contribute to our huge debt. Like it's been said multiple times in this thread, the military budget NEEDS to be DRAMATICALLY cut and if you disagree, then you're either completely ignorant of how much we exactly spend on our military, or you are absolutely paranoid of the rest of the world.
Taking away bargaining rights from teachers that are already underpaid? What's that going to do? Lowering the salary of congressmen? Congratulations, Congressman Boehner, Congress now saved an extremely tiny bit of money (which you then blow by increasing spending on the military by $24,000,000,000 that it doesn't need).
We need to cut spending on things with no return, and increase spending on things that will truly benefit America in the future: Education, science, innovation, etc. If that means higher taxes, then so be it. That's what got America to be the biggest and best economy in the world to begin with.

You guys do realize that your 3G is realistically 4 years old, right? It used the same processor, screen, graphics and RAM as the very first iPhone. They just added the 3G/aGPS chip to make it a 3G device. Four years is an eternity in cell phones.
Thats no excuse for apple to gimp the 3g. iphones are not meant to be disposable, they cost over $600+. All these bloated updates are bogging down that little phone's system. They should have their own lighter update packages.
I use an old, cheap, Nokia 3500 and its as fast as the day I bought it. It will surely last many more years to come. Then again, its not really a little computer with a phone in it. But this baby sure lasts.

For whom doesn't understand what we are talkin' about: There is a way to enable 4~5 fingers gesture function which is allowed only for developers. Purchase Xcode($4.99) from Mac App Store, install it, connect the iPad to the USB port and Xcode will recognize your iPad and there is a button asks you to use this iPad for development purpose. Click it and it will ask your developer ID but you can simply click cancel, it will anyway continue the procedure to enable the function. After that, go to the preference - general on you iPad, you will get to see the option for the 4~5 fingers gesture. I personally think, it is worth more than $5.

Cydia is your friend. Of course Mobile Safari doesn't (officially) support file downloads so regardless you're still SOL unless you predownload and transfer your FLV/SWF files.
